Downton Abbey Film Costumes | Saks 2019

Carefully unpacking each costume (with gloved hands of course!) All the pieces were carefully wrapped in acid-free tissue paper for conservation. I also made sure to document how each costume was packed so we could return them the same way they were received. This is once of the Countess of Grantham’s gowns.

Carefully unpacking one of Lady Edith’s dresses and accessories. Many of the garments and accessories were actually from the 1920’s or made from historic materials, so I was especially delicate in handling each piece.

The fashion I selected and styled inspired by the film costumes. I chose the Noir Kei Ninomiya top and Simone Rocha dress to reference the gold lace and beadwork on the costumes while also having a 1920’s ‘Robe de Style’ silhouette.

I chose the Issey Miyake Pleats Please look to reference the Fortuny pleating of Lady Mary’s Delphos gown and a 1920’s pajama silhouette.
